Message from the Chair
I am pleased and privileged to be serving, as the ASQ 406 Section Chair, from 2016 until present. The goal of Section ASQ 406 is to sustain and improve the membership base through publications, training opportunities and exam certifications.
I would like to welcome all new members. I am very excited about our upcoming plans for 2017. I would like to encourage all members to promote and leverage the ASQ brand and help us improve section visibility within social media and your professional networks.
The new ASQ 406 website is a great resource for Quality Professionals to make an impact on your career path. It offers development tools, job opportunities, publications (quality press magazine), and networking opportunities to meet with other people passionate about quality within Manitoba. There are also web links to courses at the University Manitoba and Red River College, to help guide you on the path to success.
As I look at the past year, amongst our success, we need to place an emphasis that will increase resources and support our goal and mission to serve the needs of the Manitoba Quality Professionals community through membership benefits, products, and services.
My professional experience within manufacturing and quality management includes 11 years with Ford Motor Company, as an Engineer in the UK. My family and I immigrated to Canada in 2010 where I have held Quality and Continuous Improvement roles; implementing quality management system (BRC Engineering), Oil and Gas/Six Sigma cost reduction (Tervita), Quality Management/metal spring manufacturing (Standen’s Ltd.), Hydraulic Cylinder manufacturing (Monarch Industries). Currently, I am enjoying my role at Buhler/Farm King Industries, in Morden, as a Quality Assurance Manager for agricultural products.
On behalf of the ASQ Manitoba Executive Team, I thank you, for your continued support and I wish you all the best in your quality endeavors in the pursuit of excellence.
Note: If you are interested in volunteering to join ASQ section 406 please don’t hesitate to contact the section at email or email@example.com.
